Winston Reid has finally signed a new six-year
contract with West Ham United .
As revealed by Goal on Monday, Reid held
breakthrough talks with the Hammers after having
dragged his feet over a new deal since before the
January transfer window
.
Premier League rivals Arsenal had considered a
move for the 26-year-old during the winter
window before signing Villarreal defender Gabriel
Paulista, while Reid turned down a potential
switch to Everton
.
The New Zealand star has now committed his
long-term future to the Irons by signing a six-year
contract, with the centre-back having previously
been free to walk away from the club on a
Bosman in the summer
A source close to the player told Goal: "Winston is
very happy to have committed his future to West
Ham."
Reid joined the Hammers in 2010 from Danish
outfit FC Midtjylland and has made over 100
appearances for the club, including 25 in the
Premier League during the 2014-15 campaign.
