Gunmen struck in Port Harcourt on Saturday and
killed four persons.
The hoodlums, numbering about five, stormed the
Eastern-Bypass areas of the Rivers State capital
and opened fire on a group of persons in a
restaurant.
Those who sustained injuries were rushed to a
nearby hospital while the lifeless bodies of the
deceased were taken away by the police.
The police, according to sources, arrived the
scene of the incident after the hoodlums had left.
The incident occurred a few hours before another
group of gunmen killed five persons on Saturday
night in Oroworukwo community around D-Line,
Port Harcourt.
In a related development, a suspected cultist
identified as Peter, was buried on Saturday, at the
Port Harcourt Cemetery.
The development, according to a source, cause
panic within the area.
The deceased was killed by gunmen on February
14, 2015, while attending a party organised for a
girlfriend of a member of his cult group.
Efforts made to reach the State Police Public
Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, to react
to the incidents were futile.
