The Russian Football Union has expressed its annoyance after the country's Euro 2016 qualifier
against Montenegro was abandoned after fans threw missiles at the visiting players.
The match had been suspended during the first minute when visiting goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev was
carried off the stretcher after being hit on the neck by a flare, which came from behind the goal post.
The game resumed 20 minutes later but further disturbance ensued later on in the game. Roman Shirokov saw a controversial penalty saved and after the ball went out for a throw in, fans began to launch missiles onto the pitch.
Players of both sides clashed as the atmosphere
tensed, leading to German referee Deniz Atrekin suspending the match for the second time and later abandoning it with over 20 minutes still on the clock.
